At 6:30 PM the Gregorian date is still the same day, but the Hijri date has already jumped to tomorrow. Here's why Hijri days begin at maghrib, and how to use the next=true parameter on GET /today so your app shows the right date.
If you just need today's Hijri date on your website, the REST API is great. But what if your app needs to work offline, or you're tired of managing rate limits? Meet mabims-hijri.
Want to show today's Hijri date on your website? Like in a header, footer, or mosque/pesantren widget? Here's the easiest way: use the free mabims.dev API, no API key needed, with data matching MABIMS/Kemenag criteria (not Umm al-Qura which is often 1 day off).
I built this API for developers, and I don't want integration to stop at documentation with just GET /today and that's it. So in this post I'll show examples from the simplest to more proper setups: plain JavaScript, Vue, React, and mobile apps.
